HP ProLiant SL4545 G7 HyperStorage Server

The HP ProLiant SL4545 G7 server is a converged platform providing an efficient alternative to a traditional server with DAS in environments with petabytes of storage supporting open source scale out storage applications and large email deployments. It is a convergence of compute and storage that maximizes every cubic foot in the data center, providing configuration flexibility combined with the built-in intelligence and automation of the HP ProLiant server.

The SL4545 G7 makes it simple and efficient to deploy large amounts of internal storage. It is the densest server storage available in the HP ProLiant portfolio today and can store up to 180TB of data in a 4.3U chassis. The design offers flexibility via the use of SAS, SATA and SATA SSD in the storage section, as well as a single PCIe slot allowing for an HP I/O accelerator, an external storage controller or additional networking ports. It can support a total of 60 3.5" LFF hard drives in the storage section and two 2.5" SFF HDD in the server node. For easy serviceability, all HDDs, power supplies and fans in the server are hot plug and the server node is easily removable from the front of the chassis.

• The HP ProLiant SL4545 G7 HyperStorage System eliminates the complexity associated with using a server with direct attached external storage by significantly reducing cabling and sparing required for a traditional solution.
• Having server and storage in a single chassis allows for shared cooling, power and management, as opposed to a traditional solution where these would be deployed individually in multiple chassis.
• The I/O module is available with either 1G or 10G Ethernet ports, and contains a HP Smart Array P420i Gen8 storage controller for managing the 3.5" large form factor (LFF) hard drives in the storage section of the chassis.
• The SL4545 G7 contains a low profile configurable PCI slot available for expansion with one of the following: a storage controller for external attached storage (HBA or Smart Array Controller), networking options, or an HP I/O accelerator. • The maximum storage capacity offered within the SL4545 G7 chassis (which is available in 4.3U form factor) is 180TB using 60 large form factor (LFF) hard drives of 3TB capacity.
