HP have released two servers with the E3 Xeon 'Haswell' line of CPUs from Intel. The first is the ProLiant DL320e Gen8 V2, which is remarkable in it's low depth form factor - it's only 15 inches deep and is therefore deployable in a multitude of ways. The second is the ProLiant ML310e Gen8 V2 and is aimed at the 'server under the desk' small business.

HP have released a new line of servers specifically with Big Data in mind. Featuring either Xeon™ or Opteron™ server nodes in a slightly unusual 4.3 RU chassis, the SL4500 enables the use of servers nodes and 3.5" drives in the same chassis.
Read MoreAlthough unavailable until June, HP have 'pre announced' the new CPU availability in the Gen8 range. The new E5-2400 chips will be available in the DL360, DL380, ML350 and BL420c Gen8 servers, however full details are yet to be disclosed. On the Opteron chips, availability will be in the DL385p, and the BL465c.
