Intel has announced an update to their Scalable platform on the 6th of April 2021 in the form of Ice Lake CPU family. Intel have added a number of new CPUs that  offer up to 50x performance gains over previous generation Cascade Lake. Ice Lake CPUs scale up to 40cores per CPU and feature new instruction sets that have boosted IPC performance up 18%. Optimise your solutions for AI, cloud, enterprise, HPC, network, security and IoT featuring built-in workload acceleration and performance flexibility.

To deliver this level of performance and value, Intel has optimized these new server processors in several areas:
- Increasing cores per socket as well as increased cache available per CPU.
- Increasing the memory bandwidth from 2933MHz to 3200MHz as well as moving from 6 channel memory to 8 channels allowing for up to 6TB of System Memory Capacity (per socket with DRAM+Persistent Memory)
- Enabling up to 64 PCIe Gen 4 lanes per socket.

With a modification of the system BIOS and the operating system, we can lock the processors into their maximum turbo-frequency. We support this approach with a range of a manufacturers, including DELL, HPE, Fujitsu, Supermicro, and our own range of overclocked, closed-loop liquid cooled servers.
